How To Make a Wooden Key Holder

This is a very simple wooden key holder a DIY home project. Love the way it came out!

So let's start by telling you what you need, all of this materials you can find them at a hardware store:

• Pine Wood 3 3/8 X 11 inch
• Metal Hooks with Screws
• Metal hangers with nails
• Hand Saw or a Band Saw
• Combination Square
• Sponge Brush
• Sanding Paper
• Wood Stain (Any color you prefer)
• Shellac
• Hammer
• Screwdriver
• Drill and a drill bit (depending on the size of the hook you have chosen)
• Ruler
• Masking Tape
• Marking Pen

The process is very simple first, you start by measuring the wood using your combination square so 3 3/8 X 11 Inches. Once that is done you will need to cut the wood with your handsaw or in my case I've used a Band Saw. The next step is to sand by hand the wood until it has a smooth finished, apply wood stain with a foam brush let it dry and then after that sand it again if you would like to give it more like a distressed look. I did add Shellac to add a finished coat to the project.

Now adding the hardware, take a ruler and measure even spaces between them, you can hold down your ruler with masking tape for better accuracy. Once that is done you will do the same in the back to place the wall hangers. A great tip I can give you to hold down this small nails is to use  pliers.
